It’s not enough to say that nature is my muse, it’s my grounding rod. Whether examining textures, patterns, shapes or colors, I’m drawn to the depth and variety of the natural world. My pursuit is to explore, celebrate, manipulate, and elevate these elements into works of art that compel the viewer to take a deeper look and experience what is often overlooked or dismissed.
As a sculptor, I endeavor to shape, abstract, and reorder materials. As a piece takes shape, the smallest detail, structure, and finish become equally important to me. Regardless of the materials I choose to combine, the intent of my work is always to emphasize textures, celebrate detail, and create works that convey a history or journey.
I believe it is the role of the artist to help expand our vision and responses to the world around us and to encourage a deeper connection with all things.
